Carmax could finance it, and I probably wouldn't get a warranty seeing as how it won't have any HPFP issues or turbo maintenance. I'll just put off the wedding for a year or two I'm sure my fiance won't mind >.>

I believe the '07 530 uses the 3.0L NA engine. '07 was the last year for the 525 and 530 before they moved to the 528 and 535 models, IIRC.

Edit: I wasn't paying full attention and you indirectly mentioned it was non-turbo. Need more coffee.

That looks like an 08 or earlier, I think you'd be better off with an '09-'10. Better engineered turbo system, although still issues with the HPFP. Turbos are warrantied by BMW for 8 years from build and HPFP is warrantied 10 years.

Man, that's a lot of money for an '07. Even with the low miles. I liked the 530 I drove before I bought the 550, but the post-LCI cars are so much better than the pre. Also, don't not get the warranty. Seriously. Even the 535 ('09) I've had for, oh, three months, has already been in the shop.

There are a surprising amount of affordable manual 550s and 545s for private sale, but it's a bit easier to finance them through carmax.

Does Carmax not carry them? Also, if you're interested, in the same ball park is the Infinity FX50. It's a crossover/SUV but my wife has it and it is a serious blast to drive. I DD an '09 535, and I love my wife's FX50. Big NA V8 and the throttle response is incredible. The steering is nicely weighted and honestly it handles turns with way less body roll than physics should allow.

But I know most people looking at sedans wouldn't consider an FX50...but maybe you should.

Trust me, if there were an FX50 or FX45 at a Carmax near me I'd go check it out. I love the way they look, and a big-ass V8 engine doesn't hurt!

Carmax doesn't have very many E60 V8 models. Most of them are 535s and 528s.
